Product Description

Bradford Pear

For the most part, Bradford pears are highly resistant to disease and insects. They are also one of the most popular fruiting trees because of its magnificent color.

The Bradford Pear is a well-known tree. It typically grows from 50 to 66 feet, and its flowers are white with five petals. The leaves are dark green at the top and lighter underneath. The tree gives an incredible array of colors in the fall – orange, yellow, red, pink and purple.

In small spaces the pear can be overbearing as they grow very quickly and block virtually all sun when full grown. It is also quite susceptible to winds and storms, yet it is very resistant to blight, other illnesses, and drought. It is very tolerant to soil acidity and different types of soils. The fruit is inedible except to birds.

The Bradford Pear is common in North America, mostly because of its flowering properties have become such a timeless favorite, and many people wait with expectation for the fall colors it produces. They need steady watering at first; this is not as important as it grows older. The cottony flowers and exuberant fall colors make this a consistent and beautiful favorite.
